On the application of TR CU 025/2012 in respect of hinged mirrors

When applying the Customs Union Technical Regulation “On the safety of furniture products” (TR CU 025/2012), organizations of the Republic of Belarus brought up the issue of distribution this Regulation for hinged mirrors in frames or without them.

So, in accordance with GOST 20400-2013 “Furniture production. Products. Terms and definitions” the hinged mirror is attributed to the furniture products type. This document is included in the draft List of documents in the field of standardization. As a result of voluntary application of these documents the compliance with the requirements of TR CU 025/2012 (hereinafter the List) is provided.

At the same time, the List of products for which the submission of a customs declaration is accompanied by the submission of the document on the conformity assessment of the requirement of TR CU 025/2012, includes products with the EAEU Customs Commodity codes for commodity items 9401, 9403, 9404. While the List doesn’t include the products with codes for the commodity items 7009 “Glass mirrors with frames or without them, including rear-view mirrors”.

GOST 17176-91/GOST 17176-2014 “Mirrors. General specifications” establishing requirements for mirrors is also not included and is not provided for inclusion in the above List.

In this regard, Gosstandart directed the relevant inquiry to the Eurasian Economic Commission and received the answer.
