Conformity assessment is the direct or indirect determination of compliance with the technical requirements, specified for the conformity assessment object. Products, processes related to the life cycle of assessment, works, services, management systems, as well as personnel competence can be the object of conformity assessment.
The Law of the Republic of Belarus of October 24, 2016 № 437-3 “On assessment of conformity with technical requirements and on accreditation of conformity assessment bodies” specifies the legal and organizational basis for the assessment of conformity with technical requirements and ensuring the uniform state policy in this area.
Documentary certification of compliance of conformity assessment objects with technical requirements is carried out during the attestation of conformity, which can be in the form of:
- Mandatory conformity attestation (mandatory certification and declaring of conformity)
- Voluntary conformity attestation (voluntary certification).
Fundamental documents of the National system of conformity attestation of the Republic of Belarus
Identifying of one or more quantitative and (or) qualitative characteristics of the product sample properties, another conformity assessment object is carried out during the test according to the established method. This test can be a procedure within the framework of conformity attestation or an independent form of conformity assessment.
The works are carried out by a testing laboratory (center).
