Metrological confirmation of the suitability of measurement procedures is performed on the basis of the expertise, which may be accompanied by experimental studies.

In the course of examination, the compliance of the scope of measurement procedures with the requirements applied to the measurements is determined in order to confirm the possibility of carrying out measurements using these methods.

Metrological confirmation of the suitability of measurement procedures intended for use in legal metrology is performed under the contract by legal entities as part of the state metrological service.

Metrological confirmation of the suitability of measurement procedures that are applied outside of legal metrology is performed under the contract by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs applying these techniques, or under the contract by other legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

The results of metrological confirmation of the suitability of measurement procedures are certified by a certificate or a conclusion of metrological confirmation of their suitability.
