Type approval of measuring instruments

The type approval of measuring instruments shall apply to the measuring instruments which are intended for use in legal metrology and not type-approved.

The specified measuring instruments is subjected to state testing in order to establish their metrological and technical characteristics and compliance of measuring instruments with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus on ensuring the uniformity of measurements is determined.

The results of state tests of measuring instruments are the basis for the type approval of measuring instruments. The decision is made by the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus and is certified by a certificate of type approval of measuring instruments. Information on measuring instruments in respect of which the decision is made to approve the type of measuring instruments registered in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of the Republic of Belarus.

The measuring instruments registered in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of the Republic of Belarus and/or operational documentation shall bear a type approval mark.

The instruction on the procedure for applying the type approval mark and its form, is approved by the decision of Gosstandart of 07.03.2007 No. 14.
